Mt Washington

We got to the campground in the White Mountains with fairly good weather. Overnight it started raining and rained hard all morning. We got a bit of a break in the afternoon.

The weather broke long enough for us to drive to the top of Mt Washington. It was an amazing experience not unlike some of the passes in the Rockies.

At the summit

At the summit, the winds were gusts to 50 mph and it was 37F outside! I almost got blown over πŸ™ƒ.

The White Mountains are really beautiful – just a tease of the coming color change made for some great drives.

Next stop – the Adirondack area of upstate New York.
